sunday funday in april
april in c’ville means it’s time to visit the tulip festival! we went last year and had such a great day. you can pick your own tulips from a beautiful field of various types and sizes of tulips for ~$1 per stem. the colors and varieties are stunning. they seem to be doing extremely well and have expanded a bit. there are now vendors at the venue with some food and wine and you can buy bulbs directly at the site.
last year, charlie and i enjoyed a picnic in the grass with our favorite market sandwiches. we skipped lunch at the tulip festival this year, so we could enjoy some tastee freeze on rte. 29. ever since we moved to c’ville, i have been hoping to stop by just to see what was inside. a. they have a huge menu. b. not sure what it tastes like, but fried chicken seemed to be the crowd favorite. we opted for a foot long hot dog and a milkshake. the milkshake is worth a trip up 29 by itself. delicious. and just in time for the sun to pop out from behind the clouds.
